When I am asked what is the best way to make money online one of my favorite answers is “The best way is the way that works for you!” They already knew that, of course. But, I’m not trying to look like a wise guy! I’m steering the conversation to one of the first things a newcomer to Internet Marketing (IM) needs to hear.

There are many ways to make money online. So many I can’t cover it all here, it’d probably take a book! Still, we can take a look at some of the most popular methods.

Everybody’s heard of Ebay. Go out into your garage. Pick something that’s worth something (or not), but you don’t want anymore. Post it on Ebay, sell it to someone. Ship it to them and get the money or, better yet, get the money and then ship it to them! Take a look at Worldwide Brands website if you want to get an idea of how huge it is.

That is perhaps the most well known method of earning money with the Internet.

But there’s a whole other world and it’s the one I’m in and whole lot of other folks, too. I call it being an infoprenuer. That’s right, selling information! From downloadable Ebooks and Reports to whole programs that claim to be the hot way for you to follow and get rich at the same time! There are also info products for all kinds of common human conditions and pursuits. Acne, weight loss, dating, health and fitness and more.

Imagine this… a person in Montana clicks on an ad you placed and he’s transferred to a Sales Page that does a great job selling them the info product and presto, you have a commission. You don’t have to inventory the product, you don’t have to sell the product, you don’t have to deliver the product, and you get a commission.

Sounds cool and it is. But like all things in life it is more complicated than that. Way more! The previous paragraph is an oversimplification to illustrate a point, and, the real world version of that scenario is pretty much as I described it…but…

It takes certain skills to get to be able to do that. Skills are something you have to learn! If you are teachable, the skills can be learned. It all depends on you. Well, not ALL of it.

Some of it depends on the guidance you are following. You don’t innately know there are search queries we call keywords and keyword phrases that you can use to target the very customer that is looking for what you are selling.

What you need to know, as a newcomer to IM, is that you don’t know much, if anything. So if you type in “make money online” the first thing that will occur is a flurry of sales pages touting the best, latest program for you to simply follow and make money. You need money, they’ll show you how, it’s easy!

Go ahead and read some of those sale pages. But don’t buy anything. Let your first purchase be an investment in you! Learn the skills it takes to succeed on the Net.

Listen, if you wanted to be an attorney, you’d expect to go to school, wouldn’t you?

My advice is for you to join the program I started with. I’m still with them! Whenever I have a question or am stumped I can go to these websites and get an answer. These are the places you can go and be guaranteed that the skills you need to succeed are explained in detail there. You can take that to the bank.
