Internet Marketing can be a hard slog. It most probably doesn’t look it from the outside, but it requires a whole set of new skills. some of them can be more easily learned than others. Take building a website, for example. If you already have the skill before you enter Internet Marketing you are ahead of the competition. If not, then you are on a steep learning curve at a time when there is so much else that is requiring your attention. Getting good website builder tools is essential.

Learning how to build a website can be intimidating, time consuming, and the end result will not necessarily great after all the hours spent coding it. Especially with your first few. It takes time to learn how to manipulate code, and do all the necessary things, like sizing your pictures and banners properly before uploading them to the page. There are other things, as well, that take time, like learning what to to with the ftp program. If you are like me, then you didn’t bother to learn at all and instead went with a free service. In my case I went with Squidoo.

Free services like Squidoo can be great for the newbie Internet Marketer because they take the skill out of having to build a landing page. Everything is at your fingertips and from start to finish it can take under an hour to put together a reasonably looking page. It also allows you to concentrate on content rather than all the fiddly coding.

There is a downside, though. In order to use the system you have to put up with whatever advertising they have thrown onto your page. In fact, looking at my pages, most of the advertising competes directly with the products I am promoting. It’s possible that people will click on those links rather than yours, and when they do you’ve lost money.

What would be better would be to have something similar to Squidoo, but proper website builder tools that give you the power to control all the content of your website. Something that’s easy to learn, and de-skills the process, but where you still have a professional looking landing page.

There is a new program coming onto the market designed by Internet marketers for internet marketers and is designed with the newbie Internet marketer in mind. If you want something functional then this is the way to go. I’ll be using it when it becomes available next week. I’m excited about the idea of being able to build my own landing pages without having to code. If you are an Internet marketer, then it’s likely you will be too. It’ll give you time to concentrate on the things that really matter, rather than those that do not, and you can get back to being an Internet Marketer rather than a webmaster. Not to mention being able to make landing pages with that don’t contain advertising other than your own. After all, that is what it is all about.
