When I was in college I had an acute sense that the world was buzzing right outside my class but I couldn’t hear it and it couldn’t find me. I was comforted by that and it served the dual purpose of keeping me undistracted and allowing me to concentrate on the lesson at hand.

Let’s see what happens inside the Online School.

I started looking around. Pretty much randomly at first because that’s the way I am. I want to explore. Maybe even sneak into a place I’m not supposed to be. Yes, I went straight away to the forum. Those guys in there were way ahead of me and they knew each other. It’s funny, but at first I was shy. Then I just typed in a question that was on my mind and I received a polite and informative reply. From the owner of the outfit! Well! This Online School is populated by a student body made up of of people who know almost nothing about IM, ranging to those who know quite a bit and may be making some money, and all the way up to those who know it all and are making a lot of money! That’s who I want to be when I grow up! I feel challenged.

Back to the story. I went to the orientation area and saw that things were clearly laid out. In the old days at college I would often fail to pay attention to these preliminary instructions while I thought of other things. Later I didn’t know where the cafeteria was and got to the book sales late and couldn’t get any of the cheap used ones I would have known about if I had listened.

Determined not to make that mistake again I immersed myself in the very beginning.

And, what do you know, the very start was a detailed explanation on video explaining the basics of Internet Marketing. The instructor was very good and kinda fun to listen to because he has an English accent.

So I settled in and started taking notes. One of the things I really like about this type of study is that you can pause it or even run it over if you didn’t get it the first time. I started thinking “I like this.” And, two hours later, I knew more than any newcomer would ever find out in two days at the carnival midway outside with the barkers and the colored balloons.
