The survival of a website depends to a great degree on the amount of visitors that come to the site and not so much on website design, shopping carts or some other gimmick or feature. After all, the lifeblood of the Internet business is the number of people that come and maybe convert their visit into a sale. Otherwise, it would be no better than having a costly billboard hidden in a basement instead of being prominently displayed on the highway, or some place with plenty of viewers.

So, you will want to get highly targeted advertising to your website by using some effective methods that are highly recommended. Your quickest method may require you to use those small classified ads that are normally seen besides the Google result pages. These are known as Google AdWords, which allow advertisers to spend just five dollars to open an account and then have their ads appear on Google almost instantaneously.

The only payment that the advertiser has to pay is when a visitor clicks on the ad. There are also some companies such as Overture.com that charge by the click, though you may have to wait a few days before your ads are placed on their network.

Another useful ploy would be to have it taken in a sort of loan from those who have a list of subscribers or other reliable sources. This is known as Endorsed Mailing as well as Reciprocal Linking and is a very fast method of borrowing traffic from others.

The third method that will appeal to you would be the most cost beneficial method, which is to get a one-time visitor become a repeat visitor who can then be directed to more than one site over time. You could use a simple means such as getting visitors to sign up for a newsletter or some other novel way to get them to come back over and over again. This is known as recycled traffic.

The fourth and by far the best method is via organic search engine optimization. Organic Search Engine Submission and optimization is by far the most effective way to generate constant visitors on your site for free!
