Multi-Level-Marketing (MLM) has disappointed a lot of former enthusiasts. That included me. But it is not because MLM does not work. It does. Neither is it a get-rich scheme nor a scam like a lot of disgruntled past members swear to. The notoriety was unfairly publicized by those who were enticed by the promise, caught on a transitory fire, flickered, and flamed out, consumed by impatience and lack of perseverance. But the most obvious cause of the major turnoff is that most of those who bought into the idea were the least prepared mentally and financially. They were in for a quick buck. They were really not ready to go through the difficult grind and the time it requires to succeed.

We all want to make money. When an inviting opportunity pops up in our radar, we look at it, evaluate it, listen to the hype, and we are hooked. In other words we see that the offering of a particular MLM we joined is truly something of value to us that is why we are willing not only to put a stake in it but are convinced at that point in time that we canalso persuade our family and friends to share in our good fortune. As is the case most of the time, our family and friends do not see eye to eye with us. In fact they are the first to put a damper on our enthusiasm.

Of course, the fever is still smoldering. Your leaders are there to meet with you and give you the advice and pep talk to keep it burning. Classified ads will help you, they say. Buy hot leads. Cold sell persistently. Ignore the rejections. Invite your other friends and neighbors to the rallies. You are up and ready to talk to anybody who looks you in the eye. Notwithstanding, a few thousand bucks and a few months later you are just earning a couple of hundred. A lot less than you are investing. Slowly that promise of financial freedom and the dreams you have begin to fade. We all know what came next. But was that a scam? Was the MLM a scheme to separate us from our hard-earned dollars?

All I can say is that in spite of all those negative experiences, many a member made good and achieved in MLM. I cant deny that the traditional way of prospecting is NOT a waste of resources. I realized much later that there are real individuals with the special talent to talk anyone out of their underwear. I was just not equally equipped. So I moved on. Disappointed? Yes, but I cannot blame MLM for my failure. I closed that chapter of my life and kept on searching for a better way. .

Meanwhile the marketplace has changed. Innovations in technology has provided us with the powerful tools to bring our business to market both domestically and globally. What I am really declaring is that the advent of the internet has leveled the playing field for us all who would pursue the dream to be financially free. Whereas before we are limited by the exposure we are afforded to ply our trade, today our market has no borders. With a click of the mouse not only can we get to more customers here and around the world; we can even target a specific group who have already shown the interest directly or indirectly related to our offering.

Now that does not mean that because of the internet, anyone will succeed in MLM. You still have to believe, to desire, and to plan to succeed. Only now, the process is made easier by the internet. In fact you can now build your downline much faster without having to talk to or to meet with anyone. No more meetings. No more face-to-face selling. And you can deal with your customers in the warmth of your kitchen table.

The greatest advantage of internet marketing is the countless number of tools and strategies available and already configured to facilitate the link between you and your clients. Advertising is a breeze. Some systems even go thru all the trouble of helping you select the keywords essential to driving the intended audience to your site. They allow you to create, change, delete, and adjust your ads and keywords to make your campaign more efficient and more effective. They reward the competent ones and penalize the weak. They provide statistics to help you monitor the progress of your campaign. And when any of your ads do not meet pre-set standards, they are removed from the system.

Among the many facilities that the internet provides, the most productive are the forums, the ezines and the blog sites most of which, if not all, are free. Then there are the pay-per-click advertising which in my book is the most efficient compared to my other advertising efforts because I have used and tracked its progress in my campaigns. Of course, nothing is more powerful than the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) which will drive targeted leads to your site and grow your internet network marketing business without any additional effort from you.

If you will make use of a combination of all these valuable tools to grow your internet MLM marketing business, your success is guaranteed. If you can teach a working set of techniques based upon the combined use of these tools to your downline, let me tell you, SKY is the limit!
