Tim gave us his six step approach to article marketing and then went into detail for the steps:
1) Choose 3 Niche Topics
2) Build a Small 5 Page Site for Each Topic
3) Use articles to determine which of the three he should focus on
4) Perform his “Article Blitz” on that website
5) Start getting high pr one way links
6) Repeat steps 1-5
First Captain Gorman gave us some resources for finding niches. These include nicheaday.com, browsing , and looking through the magazine racks at a bookstore.
Next Tim showed us an org-chart like diagram of a simple 5 page website. Its actually six pages if you count the home page.
For step three, Tim showed us his three day process for determining profit potential:
Day 1) Write one article on each of the three niche topics and submit each article to .
Day 2) Mass submit one new article on each of the three niche topics. Tim uses article post robot to do this.
Day 3) Write one new article on each of the three niche topics and submit them to under a different category. Then pick a winner of the three niche topics.
There was some confusion in the audience about this, so think of it this way, you will write 9 total articles submitting 3 per day for three days. Day one, submit 3 to ezinearticles (one per topic); Day two, submit 3 articles with a mass submitter like article post robot (one per topic); and Day three submit 3 articles to ezinearticles (one per topic and ideally under a different category than you used on day one).
Step four is Captain Gormans article blitz and he gave us the schedule of how he does this for his selected niche topic (not all three from the previous step, just the winner). Assume 5 Child Pages from the five page website mentioned in step two. This is my understanding of his article blitz schedule, I may have it wrong, but I think its close:
Day 1: Mass Submit Article about Child Page 1
Day 2: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 2
Day 3: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 3
Day 4: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 4
Day 5: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 5
Day 6: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 1
Day 7: Mass Submit Article about Child Page 2
Day 8: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 3
Day 9: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 4
Day 10: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 5
Day 11: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 1
Day 12: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 2
Day 13: Mass Submit Article about Child Page 3
Day 14: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 4
Day 15: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 5
Day 16: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 1
Day 17: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 2
Day 18: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 3
Day 19: Mass Submit Article about Child Page 4
Day 20: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 5
Day 21: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 1
Day 22: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 2
Day 23: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 3
Day 24: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 4
Day 25: Mass Submit Article about Child Page 5
Day 26: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 1
Day 27: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 2
Day 28: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 3
Day 29: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 4
Day 30: Ezine Articles Only Submit about Child Page 5
In summary, you mass submit one article to each category and spread it out over the first 25 days. All other days you only submit to .
Step 5 in Gormans approach to article marketing is to start getting High PR links from other sites. He suggests contacting webmasters who submit to and/or approaching sites with high pr in your niche. Then offer to write unique articles for those sites and Tim suggests that you have expert author status when you approach others. Finally he says to be sure you have a high quality site for them to link back to.
