Still to this day a sad fact remains, most home-based business owners including Passport to Wealth business owners do not have a clue about online marketing. As a result, they waste billions of dollars on mistakes. Currently there are over eleven million searches monthly in the U.S. alone by home-based business owners looking for ways to catch up with their online marketing. This should come as no surprise. Everyone knows that the future of marketing is online and when done right, the digital world can deliver the best return on their money including some of the most powerful ways to advertise for free. And therein lies the problem how do you “do it right”?

While there are tons of marketing and advertising tools out there on the internet, I’ve been seeing a disturbing trend amongst internet businesses and that is the lack of conversions rates on websites. So if these other tools were so fantastic then why is there still 11 million searches each month looking for better ways to convert traffic into sales?

I did a study where the majority of these businesses were trying to drive quality traffic to their website. I found that all of these companies had one thing in common. They were using companies that drove guaranteed traffic to there website for a certain amount of money.

Let’s take a look at this, sure anyone can drive traffic guaranteed or otherwise, to a website but there is no guarantee that the traffic they are sending to you is going to convert. Why? Because when people search online they are looking for something related to what they want. Have you ever landed on a page that had nothing to do with what you were searching for? Sure you have!

However, there is a much easier way to drive quality traffic with people who are interested in what you have. If you come away with nothing else from this article, just remember, you can have the latest, greatest, most popular product in the world, but if you don’t know how to market then you will continue to spend your hard earned dollars on advertising, lead generation, or pay-per-clicks and never make a dime in your business. I’ve been there done that and if I can help you avoiding making the same mistakes then so be it.

You’ve heard marketing guru’s in the past tell you it’s all about the list just as location is important in real estate. However, the lists they are talking about are the lists you create, not the ones you buy from a lead generation company. You do this by having a capture page also known as a squeeze page. This is one of the first things you should have for any product.

But, there is one other key element that you must have in order to become successful and that is your mindset. As to advertising, did you know that you can be listed on the first page of any of the search engines for as little as $20.00 and many times for FREE? Sound impossible? Well it’s not! Do a search on anything and what do you find in the main body of the search? No, I’m not talking about the sponsored links which are the pay-per-clicks at the top and to the right side of the page. I’m talking about the area in the main portion of the search.

Those are called organic listings for what you were searching for. Did you notice the first page is dominated by articles, blogs, and press releases?? Guess what, while others are spending thousands of dollars per month on pay-per-clicks. I’m sitting on the first page of an organic search, in the third or forth position. Sometimes I’m there for weeks and sometimes on months on end. My link doesn’t disappear after I’ve reached my quota for the day as with pay-per-clicks. It’s there 24/7 advertising whatever I am doing. Talk about a mega return… and all it took was a little time in front of the computer and a few dollars out of my pocket each month. When you think about it; I make more money doing it my way then all those poor folks doing pay-per-clicks and buying those expensive leads. Sure their numbers are impressive but when you really come down to it, what sounds more logical to you? Making $20,000 but spending $10,000 or more in advertising, well with simple adding and subtracting tells me the person only made $10,000 or less. I’d prefer to spend $100 or less and make $20,000. Lets see $20,000 minus $100 equals $19,900 in my pocket. I’ll let the math speak for itself.
