This article may ruffle a few feathers, and that’s okay. Every now and then, we need to be shaken up just a little bit. I realize that we are in the business of Internet marketing to make money. We need money to live. We need it to buy food, clothes, provide shelter and other things. So I am not suggesting that we donate all our earnings to charity. However, by being charitable, you can actually increase your income. This article will show you how. This will apply mostly to those who create their own products and services.
When we have a successful product, what we usually do, when it comes to the subject of price, is price our product as high as we can until we reach the point where the price increase seriously affects our sales in a negative way. Then we drop it back down to the last price where our product sold well. We then keep it there, usually for the duration of the time that we sell the product.
But what if, from time to time, we ran a special on the product, or maybe ran some kind of a contest where people could get a copy of it for free. Now, I know you’re probably thinking that this is simply going to take money out of our pockets and there is no way we can profit from this. However, you’d be wrong. See, when you do nice things for people, it usually comes back to you many times over. Giving 10 or 20 copies of your product away may just turn these people into future buyers of your other products and services, especially when they see how great your product is. Selling at a discount, while generating less profit, may actually increase sales, especially if people know that you’ve been selling that product for a very long time at the regular price.
Another thing you could do, and this will really generate good will among your prospects and how they see you, is to start a pay it forward campaign. Give away your product or service in return for the person who gets it giving something away in return to somebody else. While you may not make any money from this initially, once word spreads on what you’re doing, you’ll start to get a whole new army of prospects interested in what you have to offer.
The saying, “It’s better to give than receive” may be a big cliche, but it’s also very true.
To YOUR Success,
Steven Wagenheim
