If you know how to use joint ventures in internet marketing, you can blast off your earnings big time. The vast majority of the best know internet-marketing names will quote joint ventures as their major means of earning money week out and week in.

Think on all the lists you belong to and how often you have had products offered to you that belonged to somebody else other than the owner of the list you are on. That is joint venturing at work. One person has one factor of selling a product and another (or others) has another. For example, one might have a product and the other a list. One person uses their list to sell the others product and they split down the middle.

Joint ventures can help the product owner more than the list holder since the same product can be sold to many different list holders. In other words, the owner has set up joint ventures with several different people so that the market is quickly saturated with that product and a lot of money is made quickly before they start on another. They then sometimes sell off the product as a private label product in order to squeeze a bit more cash out of it.

There is nothing as powerful, but to get started you must have a product. The best products for joint ventures are electronically distributable, such a software or ebooks. It has to be a top quality product with a good sales potential, and higher priced products are better than lower priced. People want to make money, and do not want to offer sub-standard stuff to their list.

You are selling to other peoples lists, and the more others you can persuade to joint venture with your product, the more lists you are selling to. On your sales page you should have an opt-in form for your own list, together with some compelling reason for visitors to provide you with their email address, even if they do not purchase your product. In this way you build up you own list of highly targeted people who have visited the sales page of one of your products. They must therefore be focused to some degree on the type of products you provide.
