Dance With The One What Brung Ya’
Slow Down Newbie!!!
You are trying to get started at Internet marketing…not be all things to all people.
Picture yourself opening a sticks and bricks store.
Your merchandise is mens clothing.
You just opened your store….now, what do you do?
Do you run around town checking every other store to see what they offer? Bookstores, Jewelry stores, Cafeterias, whatever….absolutely not!
You might take the time to check your competitors to see if they have a lineof merchandise you’d like to have, but that’s about it.
Why on earth do you think that Internet marketing is any different? It’s not….there is only one thing you need to do once your store is open (on the web).
In real estate, the secret to success is location, location, location.
In marketing, the secret is advertise, advertise, advertise!
Instead of reading all those other opportunities you receive in your email or while surfing the Internet, spend your time tweaking your website, improving the way it looks and what you say, and advertise in the manner you feel comfortable with.
Instead of investing in money-making programs, invest in books which will give you instructions on how to improve your presentation, how to write good sales letters, how to write articles, how to effectively advertise, etc..
That is money invested, not just spent!
Back in Texas years ago there was a very popular saying, Dance with the one what brung ya’.
If you are making a little bit of money in the beginning selling widgets, then spend some of your profits trying to learn how to better sell them. Don’t go off on a tangent just because some offer looks good to you (they had a good copywriter).
When you find a good source of information, stick with it. Don’t go looking around for something else to do.
There is an old story about the man who thought he was too old to start something new. Talking with a friend, he said that if he went to school (which lasted four years) to learn this new trade, he would be 45 years old when he finished. His friend answered, How old will you be in four years if you don’t go to school? Naturally the answer was the same 45 years old.
The answer to this situation is evident..age is no factor in starting something new. If you get started in something you really like, you will have a better chance to be successful at it. So, as the shoe manufacturer says, Just Do It.
Most important…once you get started, stick with it (unless prudence shows you that youwon’t be profitable).
Just remember…Dance with the one what brung ya’
