“Go for the moon. If you don’t get it, you’ll still be heading for a star.

Happiness lies not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of the creative effort.”

Set your intention for a vibrant, successful website. Learn the tools needed to make it happen, and then get out there and let your knowledge lead you to the actions that will manifest that intention.

Would you like a way to generate residual income from your website, well, actually, from your web-traffic? Then keep reading. Many webmasters have made an excellent income by displaying Google Ads on their sites, and you can too.

Here’s how it works. The webmaster obtains a special code from Google which will display targeted ads on his/her site. When visitors click on these ads the webmaster earns a commission. The webmaster does not need to do any selling at all - the only goal of the webmaster is to get visitors to click on the ads. Very simple!

Okay, so if this is so simple then why isn’t everyone making a lot of money at it, or are they? Let’s analyze it.

Anyone can apply to use AdSense - it’s free. Google extends their presence to countless websites which generates millions of dollars in advertising revenue. One of the driving forces behind the success of this program is the relevance of the ads to each and every page of the website copy. This intensifies the chances of visitors clicking through, which leads to the webmaster collecting more revenue.

Many webmasters are developing several websites in order to leverage their income. By having more than one website they are able to attract various targeted visitors, capitalizing on many relevant keywords.

Ideally, when developing a page for AdSense, you should have great content about a specific topic. Useful information is the key. Carefully choose the keyword, then provide excellent information that your visitors will benefit from. Content, content, content is the key to success. Always continue to build your site with quality information! Visitors will then be more likely to click through to one of the relevant AdWords on the page, making you money!

After you have exhausted all topics you can think of related to that website, start another one! Build it about something else that you love! Then, whenever you can, add content!

Google allows up to three ad units per page. One of the problems that comes up is where to position the ads. There are different opinions about this, and I suggest that you try various placements to test for yourself. Many webmasters believe weaving the Google ads in your web content is the way to go. At the top and to the right seem to be listed as the number one choices. There is an agreement that the large Rectangle Ad Format is very useful. Most webmasters frown on using borders, and to continue with that same school of thought, most recommend that the ads have the same font and colors of the your web page. Also, graphics should be limited.

There may be times that you will want to filter specific ads from advertising on your site. Within your AdSense manager you have the option of removing certain ads from being displayed on your website.

Other things to keep in mind: Google doesn’t pay until you’ve earned at least $100. Therefore, it may not be advisable for a very small business that gets little traffic on a daily basis, to sign up for AdSense at this time. Instead, you may want to work on ways to generate more traffic, as well as create more content for your site. However, if your company gets 500 - 1000 visitors a day, imagine the extra income that is possible!

“Always bear in mind, that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other thing.”

- Abraham Lincoln
